TECH Foundations
The right technology. Without unnecessary complexity.
Technology should make running your business easier. But with so many systems, features and promises to choose from, it's not always obvious what you need, what works together or what you're paying for twice.
And you don't need the most sophisticated solution. You need technology that does the job, works for the people using it and suits your business.
TECH Foundations is a free, practical guide to choosing and using technology, without needing a dedicated IT team or specialist knowledge.
TECH Foundations helps you:
understand the basic technology needs of a small business
work out what you actually need before buying new software
avoid paying for overlapping or unnecessary functionality
ask the right questions about cost, compatibility, ownership and future needs
recognise the warning signs that your existing technology isn't working well
make more informed decisions about what to keep, change or introduce
Is TECH Foundations for you?
TECH Foundations is designed for smaller businesses to use themselves, particularly those with fewer than 25 employees and no dedicated IT team.
That might include freelancers and consultants, small agencies, trades and service businesses, independent retailers and local charities.
It's particularly useful if you rely on everyday software for accounting, payments, customer management, communication and running your business, but aren't always sure whether you have the right tools.
The guide focuses on straightforward business technology needs. If you're a regulated business or have complex or specialist requirements, you'll need additional advice.
Free. Useful. No strings attached.
You don't need to give us your contact details to download TECH Foundations. Just take it, use it and make more informed decisions about the technology your business uses.
If you find it useful, we'd always be pleased to hear about it. And please pass it on to others you think could benefit too.
